醫學院畢業服務期滿後，張醫師回家鄉─新營開
設婦產科診所。

忙碌的生活一天天的過，晚上看診結束，張醫師
經常帶著太太及孩子們到新民國小校園散步，觸景生

情，思緒不經意地勾起了兒時的記憶，因此向孩子們
介紹當年的新民。

他說：「三十年代的新民國小位在新營西邊，因
此命名為西國民小學，首任校長是日籍小澤先生，臺

灣光復後第一任校長陳枝留先生，三十九年校名改為
新民國民學校，五十七年實施九年國民義務教育，更

名為新民國民小學。」

Dr. Chang returned to his hometown to open

an obstetrics and gynecology clinic. After his
clinic hours, Dr. Chang often takes his wife and

children to the campus of Sinmin elementary

school for a walk and tells them about the Sinmin

in the past.

二 . 兒時歡樂

新民國小創校的前兩年，因校舍尚未完成，曾借用新營國小、夜

市沈氏宗祠及第一市場邊的大廟上課。

During the first two years after Sinmin elementary school

founded, the classrooms were not ready yet, they had to

borrow the campus of Sinying elementary school and the space
of the Shen's ancestral hall near the night market for classes.
